Many network marketers or mlmers make this mistake of talking to "the walls" These "walls" are people who have made up their minds that network marketing or mlm is not for them! There is this word called "mindset" which literally minds the mind has settled down and for some it has turned into "petrified wood"! Why waste time talking to "walls"?
These people will not listen to you and they will only drain you off the energy you need to work your business! There is this wise saying: "A man against his will is of the same opinion still" It is so unproductive to spend your time talking to someone who does not respect you or your industry!
Yes, I am sure you were taught by leaders to give everyone a chance and not to prejudge, isn't it? You have to be wise enough to do a little bit of qualification, you don't talk to young children or drunkards about joining your network marketing business, do you? Their mind are not ready to accept what you are sharing with them!
People who are negative and have already set their minds against network marketing are the ones that are guilty of bad mouthing the industry when they know only ten percent of it! Through their ignorance and negative attitude, they have hurt a wonderful business that is make a positive difference to millions of lives worldwide!
I've written articles that ask "what's wrong with mlm or network marketing?" What's wrong about buying direct from the manufacturer? Dell made billions of dollars on this great idea of helping people to save money and buying direct from the manufacturer and avoiding the chain of agents and middlemen!
What's wrong with a business that is highly regarded by multi-millionaire such as Robert Kiyosaki, Mark Victor Hansen and Robert Allen. Even billion-aire Donald Trump highly recommended this powerful, proven and tested home-based business! Intelligent successful people are able to see the great benefits of this business so why can't these negative people and most of them are not successful, why can't they see it? Again, it is their mindset or negative attitude. It's tough to communicate with a mind that is closed!
You can use logic and emotion on them but your chances are slim if their minds are closed, as I repeatedly tell the newbies in this business: "Don't talk to the walls, they will not listen to you!"
A very effective way is to hand them a DVD and ask them to watch the DVD and let the experts do the talking, after watching the DVD, either they are excited or not! Either they see the business or not! Don't waste your time trying to convince someone who just don't see it! I told a lady recently to take the word "convince" out of her system! You should focus your energy on sharing the opportunity not on convincing people about the opportunity!
Leverage on this powerful tool which most companies will provide and it will save you lots of time and energy! A DVD will not cost too much and it will save you lots of time and energy which will return to you in hundred folds when you do the right things. What do I mean when I say "do the right things".
Choose a company with a great management team that know what they are doing and doing the rights things at the right time! Look for an organization that has an experienced leader who will give you great support and your chances will be much better. Do not make your sponsor an issue! There is always better support further up if you are not able to get it from your immediate uplines!
Always be sincere and be grateful to the person who introduce the business to you. If you find the management is not doing the right things and most of the people are not able to make a decent part-time income, then it is time for you to let go, and move on! Why be grateful to the person who showed you the opportunity? He had good intentions and sometimes he is just like you, not able to identify a good company and again, this is a common mistake! Even top network marketer have made this mistake a few times! Most of the times, it is the management, they changed the compensation plan to their advantage or didn't deliver what they promised or did not stay competitive!
Another common mistake is to stick with a company that is not responding to the leaders' feedback and has a compensation plan that even experienced network marketers find it hard to understand! You can't go far riding a sick horse! One important skill to learn is to be able to identify a good company and don't be too hard on yourself, many top network marketers have to go through a few companies before they find the right one!
