Wars, natural disasters and slums are trigger points for a bird flu pandemic because viruses thrive when the health conditions is very poor and birds are everywhere and the WHO has issued several warnings on the impending bird flu pandemic!
Millions of people are still not taking the warning seriously and didn't understand the meaning of the word "impending" which means it is on its way, not whether it will happen or not, it is when it will happen? Governments worldwide are stocking up on tamiflu and other anti-viral drugs and experts estimate this bird flu pandemic will kill over 70 million people worldwide!
It is to everyone's interest to stop wars, help people in natural disasters and get rid of slums by improving the living conditions, slum and wars are a disgrace to the leaders of the countries because it is preventable! A natural disaster is beyond our control and all government leaders must co-operate and give all the humanitarian aid that is needed for the people and improve the health conditions.
When there is bad health conditions, it is a breeding ground for viruses and could trigger a bird flu pandemic!

Right now there is war in the middle east and world leaders should put serious efforts to stop the war because if it triggers a bird flu pandemic, millions of lives will be lost worldwide!

Why can't the leaders of the world put their efforts to help bring world peace because it is to everyone's interest? Every soldier that dies is someone's father, husband, son, brother, cousin or good friend! The haunting song "Where have all the flower gone?" and "When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?"
The government leaders that have slums in their countries should be very ashamed! People should have a decent living condition and if not, why not? It is very foolish to have slums in the country because they are trigger points for a flu pandemic and it is like having a ticking bomb in your backyard!
Ask any scientist and they will confirm what I am writing here is true because the SARS was a wake up call for government leaders to get their act together, the viral "tsunami" will spread so fast and kill so many people that it is very foolish to not do anything now to prevent it!

We must co-operate and work towards world peace and improve living conditions in slums. We live in an interdependent world and everyone of us has a part to play. We can reduce pollution and global warming by reducing waste, pollution and helping people to stop smoking!
